I miss you at the start of every day I miss you when the stars come out to play I miss you in the languid afternoon I miss you in the blazing heat of noon I miss you in my dreamless midnight hour I miss you when I'm sad and life is dour I miss you when I'm happy and at rest I miss you when I think of all that's best I miss you, dear, I miss those sparkling eyes I miss that giggle and your girlish wiles I miss your curly locks of jet black hue I miss the dimpled beauty that is you I miss you, girl, no one can heal this ache If I don't see you soon, my heart will break So come on home; have pity on my soul It's only when you're near that Mama's whole. Hi Eileen, we mothers why do always have to keep suffering when our children are away. Your poem brought more tears to my eyes. As i lived more without my children than with them. I feel with you and know exactly how u feel.Your poem is out of this world, so deep, smooch feelings of missing, so true love towards your daughter, her picture is as beautiful as u are. Love Terry xoxo

This poem really is about your daughter you said in a reply to a comment. That ache is such an internal agony. Only now can we as Mom's understand this, frame it for her to remember when she is a mom . Build beautiful memories when see her.

The longing is so palpable Eileen. My baby is heading off to California for University in August. I know my feelings will be similar.

Thank you, Richard. I miss my daughter....I wrote this, shed a few tears, and send it to her. She's studying in Europe and I can't wait till she comes home on break.
