I Loved You Before We Met

I Loved You Before We Met By Rick Rucker I’m sitting here, reflecting on how strange Life can get, Suddenly, I realize that I loved You, even before we met! Generally, there are some concepts that I hate, Chief among those, is the term “Soul Mate,” I think that I don’t like the thought of everything being run by Fate, It suggests that my own Future, I’m powerless to create! And yet, there may still be some Hope, I held a vision of the perfect Mate, a way to cope, With crushing Loneliness, I said a silent prayer, And when we met, you were my answer, a gift most rare! Still, this brings up a quandary, one that is driving me mad, Are You my Vision, or one that Someone else had? When I asked of Heaven, their help to enlist, With my loneliness, and the Love that I missed, Someone sent You to me, that much I knew, I fell in Love with You instantly, what else could I do? You are everything that I prayed for, and more, to boot, You were my answer, the reason to stop my pursuit! I wanted a woman, traveled and cultured beyond me, You were born in another country, and classy, that I could see. And your figure, your lovely form, Simply gorgeous, far surpassing the norm! I wonder about all of this, and the questions it does spawn, I think I’ll just go with it, and be Love’s Willing Pawn!
