I Love You Because
Not because you like my lips
Or the curves of ample hips
Not because you love my smile
Or think I make life worthwhile
Not because you love my hair
When your hands entangle there
Not because of how I sing
When to your heart joy I bring
Not because you think I’m smart
And you love my caring heart
Not because you love my face
Or how you think I’m full of grace
Then why do I love you so?
Listen, Baby, you must know
My love at its best you’ll find
Because you love my troubled mind.
