NEVER tell a secret to someone who says “I won’t breathe another word” I told you my deepest darkest secrets You said you wouldn’t breathe another word But I know for a fact that you’re still living And that you told a little bird That bird then started tweeting My ‘secret’ is all over the Internet If I get my hands on you you’ll regret it But I haven’t caught up with you YET! If someone tells you you can trust them Then you should be very very wary! Inspired but not for Idiom contest 23rd July 2016

Very timely insight regarding social media. Written in a light yet wise manner highlighting the point of how very much words do matter, regardless of the platform. Miss the days of when "one's word was their bond". My age may be showing but I still value loyalty. A terrific, relevant write! blessings, lynn

Thanks Jai - I love to play with the titles it's important to draw the reader in - I will sometimes write with a twist which is totally not what the title implies:-) :-) hugs Jan xx

Lots of levels and side streets with this one. Often think best kept secrets are ones everyone knows. My problem is everyone wants to tell me their secrets. Feel like a secret dumping ground sometimes. I have a few secrets in trust at present. I have a pretty good poker face. Some people like writing I've got a secret on their face. Have advantage of age of course. My degree of secrecy depends on knowledge re consequences. Have a good week. David

If I'm asked to keep a secret then I maintain that trust David sadly not everyone is the same... thankfully for me this is a fiction write as I don't do social media :-( hugs jan xx

Wow, this poem really saddens me. It seems like this whole big world has big time trust issues. This is the number one reason why I have very few friends and don't even like going on the internet much. I work too long of hours to keep up with all this computer technology and really keep to myself. The less people say the better. Secrets should never be whether it is false or true to heart.... Rosa

You are very wise Rosa - i don't do social media at all and find it sad people live their lives through it, sadly with 'internet friends' you never know who really it is you are talking to unless you meet them for real:-( hugs jan xx

the only way to keep a secret is to keep it a secret.....forget about them....find the little bird and tape his beak shut...

I have a friend who puts everything on the internet. I rarely will unless it is something that helps or praises someone.

I am trusting less and less Tim and social media and false friends and the ability for something to be posted for the world to see is quite distressing. Am glad I don't do 2facedbook. :-) hugs jan xx

Hi Jan, I agree, there is much truth in this piece. My motto is trust is something earned and not something you just give away.A Big seven:-) Alexis

I have had so many falsehoods told to me and have got to the stage I take much with a pinch of salt especially on here - i am wary of what I tell to other's now:-( hugs jan xx
