I Knew a Woman

She moves in circles and those circles move Roethke, such a rake To make lofty such tales of bed(lam) and sin And cheek(y) to cheek sang the Greeks But then there is beauty in the sway and curve of Woman Woman who woos and sighs and breathes in the shallow Wanton way of a born again **** star, twinkle, twinkle little Star And still you wonder where you are You are what you eat You are at Burger King But then you are an International (****) Super Star (you to the power of twenty-four) And still you wonder where you are You are on the dirty-eight You are on the corner of Van Ness and Eddy You are a Star I wish I may I wish I might Know why ice cream is better than conversation Why being bored means you are Boring Boring Boring me to death Here in Dante’s Inferno, except it is cold Here in Purgatory, except I am still Sin Roethke, such a rake To make lofty such tales of bed(lam) and Sin And cheek(y) to cheek sang the Greeks But then there is beauty in the sway and curve of Woman She moved in circles and those circles moved
