I Just Need To Say Thank You
I sit on our veranda, the sun shines down on me,
I sit out at night, the moon beams down on me,
I sit on our veranda, the stars twinkle above me,
I sit out in the heat, the breeze caresses me.
I see the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea,
I gaze at the beauty that is Cyprus,
I gaze in awe of all the splendour within my view.
I feel God saying, David, I did this just for you.
We came to this Island in the sun,
We felt that our working life was done.
God must have laughed at our plan,
For that's the time when His began.
We work part time in a Hospice shop,
No pay, but great rewards each day
Folk come by with their stories, some sad,
We pray, and send them on their way.
I came from a humble background, I have toiled all my life,
I came to the end of my working life, just glad that I survived,
I struggled for the most part, clinging to the wreckage as 'they' say.
God sent me a wonderful person to help me on lifes way.
We married all those years ago, not knowing what the future held,
Jesus is the glue in our marriage, He holds us together as one.
He is the 'food' for our sustinance, He keeps us 'alive'
Thank you Jesus for all the work You have done in our lives.
