I Hate, I Love

I hate the priest who holds my soul hostage I hate the politician who exacts a heavy wage, I hate God when He is silent in face of atrocity when man kills man with atrocious monstrosity. Oh, I love the sun, rising afresh in the east tearing asunder the dark belly of the beast, I love the innocent smile on the face of a child and when the flowers bloom free in the wild. Oh, how I love to hate a pompous ass and yes, I hate to love a dumb lass! ~05/06/23 ~Contest: Couplet Poetry ~Sponsor: Sotto Poet.

- A poem of truth... but may be "hard" on the eyes of the reader... congratulations... it made the winning list after all, Abdul :) -

Yeah, I thought so too. But I had to speak my mind, and let the chips fall where they may!

Actually I understand about feeling God is silent. There are times I wish he would respond to my prayers. I just take it that it's all part of a bigger picture I will comprehend once I die.

I have a big problem God being silent. Because of his silence, other people speak on his behalf. and you know what, "silence is admission of guilt!" I believe very strongly, when you die...you stay dead! there's no bigger picture than this.

I really liked this poem. I only wish you didn't hate God. Since all the evil happening is human based.

You are wrong there. Human-based evil happens in the name of God!
