I Had a Dream

I had a dream That love was forever, And life was a song We all sang together. I had a dream That we all got along, And peace filled us Like a beautiful song. I had a dream There was no more violence, And protesters complained In expressed silence. I had a dream There was no more fear, And no one had to shed A mournful tear. I had a dream That hearts didn’t break, And our dreams were something That no one could take. I had a dream That hate came to an end, And the only real treasure Was found in that of a friend. I had a dream That every one believed, And success was something Each one of us achieved. I had a dream That when we die, We became eagles That soar across the sky.
