I Go To Bed Soon

Hold thy peace you day star Behold, i go to bed soon Beyond the vale of furrows afar Sighs and heaves the river and moon. Cool air mating with the gloaming drives The winged creatures to their nest Amidst baobab that shed their leaves And the wager homeward plods to rest. The call of the silent night I bask to obey as her blanket Slowly looms and enshrouds the height One last glare of day, without regret. May there not another day star be When with balm of rest I soothe my bone Let there no storm be, this my plea To make body and hearts cold and lone!
