I Fell Into the Sky
I fell into the sky one day;
I don't recall exactly how.
I wish that I could show you, but
the window isn't there right now.
It snatched me right outside our door
with nothing but a tender breeze.
I tumbled from the puddled ground
and landed safely on my knees.
You won't believe the things I saw;
this journey wasn't just some game.
The world beyond our cotton sea
is similar, if not the same.
The trees are tall; their leaves are green.
The sun is bright and hot like steam.
The sky above looks just like ours.
It all seemed so much like a dream.
I hope that sidewalk pool comes back;
you won't believe me till you see.
If such a place does not exist,
then who was staring back at me?
