I Didn'T Plan To Love Her

I didn't plan to love her She bombarded her way into my life, I wasn't ready at all! I wanted nothing to do with her, She wanted me to give her more. In, she would step and out, I would go. We danced, the shouldn't we, should we dance, For days, for months and then for weeks, too and fro. I couldn't stand her sight, she loved mine. One day for a moment, just one, I am sure, everything changed when I finally looked at her. We sat and we chatted, we fought and we laughed, She knew my secrets, and spilled hers too. Love was growing, not what I wanted, but what was I to do? The months started to skip and the days started to dream, Love started to flower with lazy summer days spent, In winter we wrapped ourselves up together, When autumn started, we decided we would be forever. Its been more than ten years since she caught me with her smile so bright, in fact seventeen years, has seen her as my wife. Though falling in love was not my first idea, those first days, we made sure to sort out our worst. Now each day, each morning and night I love to sit staring into the eyes of my wife To love her isn't easy, it has come with tears too, But to love without her would be impossible to do. To love her makes my life complete, I used to wonder where I would be if we didn't meet? So glad I don't have to wonder, alone and empty, I know. I love falling for her each day even more, through wrinkles and aches, love grows as older we grow. Dated - 02 July 2019
