I Couldve Been

I could've been a cheerleader, I could've been a Wal-Mart greeter. I could've been a magazine editor, I could've been an intimidator. I could've been a doctor or nurse, I could've been a shaman and put you under a curse. I could've been a litigater, I could've been a participater. I could've been a cook, I could've published a book. I could've been a pilot, I could've learned to cook shalots. I could've been a gambler, I could've been a rambler. I could've been a rockstar, I could've driven for Nascar. I could've climbed a mountain, I could've designed marble fountains. I could've been a model, a real beauty, I could've been a pirate and collected booty. I could've been an architect, I could've been an intellect. I could've been a singer, I could've been a spirit and lingered. I could've been a beauty queen, I could've been a mermaid so beautiful and serene. I could've been a contender, I could've been a pretender. I could've been a psychiatrist, I could've been a philanthropist. I could've been a show girl, I could've given acting a whirl. I could've been a writer, I could've been a fire fighter. I could've seen the world, But then I wouldn't be your girl. If I had been any of these things, I would've missed the happiness you bring. If God had answered any of these prayers, he would've missed the best, Because he knew I could live without the rest. He knew you were the best thing for me, Because you were the only one who could see, Just how good I could be, And that's why He sent you to love me!
