I Could, I Would
I could sleep at your feet
Offer my love like body heat
Be the tears running down your face
So I could kiss your lips
I could hold my breath
Offer my life for your rebirth
Cover your fears for the rest of my life
If God took you prematurely
Your beauty is plastic
You never age...even as we age
You are quintessential
A classic new age
I could sell my soul,
Make a deal with the devil
All so I could see you through your hell
Blanket you from the fire
I would be your sin
To spare you from the pain
If heaven couldn't make you an angel
'Cause God knows you're mine
I would be the music (your favourite song)
That speaks to your heart
I would be your favourite book
So I could read your mind
Here is my pledge
Feel my cutting egde
And I'll listen to your heart
I could, I would, 'cause girl I'm your heartbeat
