I Can'T Breathe
In memory of---- all lives taken by unfair justice.
Solely in my room, I can't stomach the sound of my pulse
I sit here alone to forget the taste of air
Deluge by the scenery - unbelievable footage 18 seconds long,
Eric Garner GONE... NEVERMORE
Here we are again, 8 minutes to never be revived
"I can't breathe." My Judgment "Lacks Respect"
The Last Straw... George Floyd, murdered in broad day
I used to fear wreckless colors, now I fear spinning bright lights
The Red, White, and Blue, I spew you
What's wrong with your sense of humanity?
You see him, you want to deprive his oxygen
What a day to trade --
a life for illegal cigarettes, a fraudulent check.
Persecution and judgment day, his life - packed in a box.
"I can't breathe" executed for all to experience
When bullets fly high, who's policing the police?
What happened to mind my business?
Haunting voice tackled by racism, pouring heavy hearts
Clowns in the background silenced one's testament,
Pleading, "I can't breathe!"
Where did his vigilant vitals go?
No one to tap out, pound the pavement
What the hell, why are you just standing there?
Mr. Officer, can you not see Sandra's, struggle?
Tension, anger, madness, the voice of innocence "I can't breathe."
The volume of valium "Officer, did you not hear the cry?"
Now they sleep..............
Ears on mute, blue lives heart can't compute
Have you forgotten how to save a life?
Is it whites or every other badge, insinuating crime's a one-color show
We are all criminals, why the excessive heat?
Shot, tasered, beat down, pepper-sprayed, now on the ground
The mother of all chokeholds, taking a knee without a movement.
Murdered, outnumbered
The echoes remain "I can't breathe!" - The truth!
Eric Garner, George Floyd, and others robbed of their natural path
One man eyed suspiciously, perplexed minds suffocating him instantly
The mistrusted, the awe, the hate, so tangible uniforms use deadly force
Slamming heads on the floor, open wounds, worldwide tears
My heart extends to the friends and family left behind
A courageous last breath, for the first and last time
"I can't breathe," now deceased.
You left this world unwilling, waking up a strong community.
Strolling in a safer world, where racial discrimination doesn't exist
"I can't breathe,"
Much to our dismay,
We should fight injustice and stand for equality.
Gorge Floyd, Rest in peace!
