I cannot follow you brain patterns

It's a nothing to say day Unless prompted, then it tumbles out I have decided to be cautious about confirmation bias Quit inadvertently seeking to prove bad stuff is true I shall free it Random thoughts sail in Walking into the shop as a child Pizza flavoured crisps had been invented In - get this, pizza slice shapes! There was also a 'Dress Diana' paper doll Those where you bend the paper tabs to change the outfits - wonderful... I can make positive changes Catch myself proving the negative and turn it around Remember the exciting flavour of pizza crisps There was always an insufficient amount of tab for the concept of outfit change paper dolls to work ~ I've perhaps missed the boat righting that wrong

A marvellous mix of memories stirred and made into a poem that held my attention....the feeling of a cerain kind of sadness infusig the poem, had me going back for more....not that I enjoy sadness, but you managed to capture something illusive and lovely.

Thanks Paul, it was a late night offering where I decided to let the poem exist despite reservations - I remember you liking my one that mentioned being the #1 tofu purchaser in the area (certified by the supermarket - still a favourite accolade). Maybe I should dabble more in the abstract meets the forced logical thoughts to see what combinations my brain believes belong together? It's interesting really - thought association game and the task is figure out the logic :) thanks for your comment

Very nostalgic poetry, DD. I like the way you covered both side of the memories. Have a great week, my friend. Bill

Thank you Bill - this felt a throwaway poem but it's captured quite a lot of attention. Glad you enjoyed the nostalgia, I often have random memories pop in that seem a few years ago but then are so far removed from modern life. I suppose they actually are from a different time. Thanks for your comment

How about marbles? Did you ever play marbles or are you too young? This poem oozes nostalgia, DD

I thought mentioning paper dolls made me look about 80. I played with marbles on occasion, they'd started to be deemed dangerous though. Mostly skipping ropes, colouring, Barbie's and handstands

my brain started tumbling almost out of control as I read your poem. I loved the air of chaos...made me think about those times when I was anxious, my mind swirling out of control. Nicely done, Di11y! enjoy your evening, Sara

Thanks Sara, I was pretty relaxed writing this - just capturing how you can be doing one thing and your brain offers a random memory. Strangely there can often be hidden synchronicity that appears if I put it in a poem. It did look very rolled in a barrel down a hill though this one! Thank you for your observations - always appreciated x

Ah yes the land of "paper dolls and baseball cards" a distant place visited by the old dabbling in their youth

I tried visualising the rest of the shop last night but couldn't get any more. You've unlocked the football cards and knitting patterns and the fact they'd pause before giving you your change to see if you left without it. Oh and the first newspaper in colour called 'Today' :)

Can you get chocolate pizza? A lot going on in your poem, but that is what anxiety can do...

I've not encountered chocolate pizza - I could invent that instead of the updated paper dolls! Hang on, I see an issue... Bizarre are the memories the brain throws out for no reason. I should also stop labelling everything anxiety - I'll put some thought to my new favourite tag. Thanks for your comment
