I Bring the People In
Some throw plump tomatoes
and harsh comments.
And some ask me for weed
as if I'm on it.
Others honk and throw me
five dollar bills.
But at the end of the day
I've had my fill.
I bring the people in
with a bright smile and friendly waves.
I bring the people in
with my ridiculous dance craze.
Music of all kinds
blair through my headphones.
It reverberates through me
from head to toes.
I simply stay afloat,
try not to sink.
Don't care what you
"civilized" people think!
This is what I do,
so please don't curse and fight.
This is what I do
and I'm gonna do it right.
I bring the people in
with a bright smile and friendly waves.
I bring the people in
with my ridiculous dance craze.
It may be dead end,
but I'm having fun.
Burning calories
under a summer sun
I lost twenty-two pounds
believe it or not.
Give me a sign
and I'll show you what I got!
This is what I do,
is that cool with you?
NOTE: For those that aren't familiar with what this is about, I used to be a Shakerboarder. There's other titles like sign-shaking sign-spinning etc. etc. Basically the job is draw attention to you by waving a sign on the side of the street. I really DID lose 22 pounds, btw.
Here's a Youtube video showing me at work... my old job...

P.S. It was Black Friday weekend so they made me where the Santa suit...
