I Am Real

I’m real The words that you see Where typed by fingers Attached to the hands Attached to the arms Attached to the shoulders Attached to the chest In which resides the beating heart That keeps me alive… I’m not just a cyber-link That you click on at will To see what’s new In my feeble attempts At poetry My breath of life My very soul Is imbued in the letters These simple letters Which combine to form An image you can see Of the real me These little rhymes Are clothed in my hopes My disappointments And my fears All my insecurities And all my needs What brings me joy And makes me dream These words are alive They breathe They bleed They smile They entice They flirt They feel Look at them more closely And see me I’m real… Keep me as a link to your heart Let one click bring you to me Come into my world Where you can see and feel me For the love of life Don’t lose me in cyber-fantasy world I’m real… Touch the screen Feel my pulse Take a peek Into my mind Live a moment in my life For these words that you see Are a living breathing entity Tissues and cells The body Of the real ME. Wouldn't it be so cool, though, to meet your poetrysoup friends face to face...Like a poetrysoup convention...Oh, and the part 1 part 2 thing...I have posted only part one for stories of shenzhen and stories of guangzhou. There will be a part 2 to both of them...I can see how that looks confusing now that you mention it...:)

What a great topic to write about. I don't believe that I forget (but sometimes I do). We like to see them as works of art, sometimes unaware, that a HUMAN was the one that held the brush. I've never met a poet in real life... just on cyber-world. I'd be interested to see what two could come up with in person!

Yes, I've heard people say that cyber friendships aren't real! I get furious! FB friends are real...this community is so REAL sometimes I might mistake it for the REAL one! That is a danger! ;) However, I do believe in the written word...it means so much to me. That's why my friends here are precious to my soul...you included! :)

No, Richard...you are in the clear. You are a good boy, and Auntie is well pleased. Also...thanks for using all your own words...take a nap now, dear...you've over exerted yourself! ;)

Sometimes we lose grasp of the person that wrote the poem we are reading! I rarely do, but occasionally I lose the feel of the person who wrote the poem I'm reading! But this poem was loud and clear, I could sense every line of who you are within this illustrious write! This is a tremendous poem, Great Work!!

Yes, Russell...it is easy to see it as just another poem. When we get to know the poet better, we get to see where the words are coming from! :) Thanks for your encouragement!
