I Am Lotus Flower
I lie in wait for moon to cease
Pond skater floats on high
Dawn chorus splits the nights silence
Morning ray I now do spy
Slowly I stretch and break the surface
Of the glassy pond, my home
With subtle hues of pink and white
My shape I start to form
I raise myself in purety
Above the muddy floor
From such dark depths I do emerge
Upwards I start to soar
Head now held high so undefiled
The carp beneath for shade
My heron friend is by my side
For food he starts to wade
Now in full bloom with broken dawn
Emanating beauty's power
My leaves float gently upon this pool
I'm the proudest lotus flower
