I Am
Inside a dream once God did have
Dark nightmares in that celestial place
I, merely a fantasy…
A musing for His Grace.
Did he lay his head down on a cloud
As angels round him sang
A sweet, cherubic lullaby
In harmonic grace?
To toss and turn as visions burned
Inside the mind of God.
A heart to race, tears on his face
At the innocence unlearned.
To dream of sins, the lust of men
Of broken hearts, again and again
The war. The hate. The poverty.
The crimes of all humanity.
The antics of a worn out soul
Who had no other place to go?
Oh, Eden… so, so far away…
Delusion. Confusion. Dreams of decay.
Inside a dream the Lord once had
I was a fool, I was so sad.
Still, he loved the least of me…
I Am
I exist
because he dreamed.
