Hunger's Moon
Hunger’s Moon
I gaze and wonder
should I order a pizza?
Perfectly round with
smoothly tawny, aged,
cheese, small bubbles
of asteroid strikes
crisp edge
of darkened pepperoni.
Ripples of heat
drooling
across the august face
of old sol's mirror,
stolen scent
of memories,
hands held,
lovers lies told
in the fullness
of an August moon.
