Humanity's Innuendo

Ecosystems are being strained We stand alone as the culprit Every night when I have prayed I wake up and see they've botched it In less than a year from now It will reach the Atlantic Dolphins, crabs and the sea foul Will die before we panic These black tides will devour Killing pristine mating ground Poison our shores every hour Shutting our blue oceans down Finger pointing will continue Cleanups impossible, they say Humanity's innuendo Is riding on the tides today

Your poetic words express my fears so well, Mitch. But it's time to stop finger pointing and concentrate on plugging the leak. Lord help us if the cleanup truly is impossible. Love, Carolyn

It's interesting to see how what was once "Black Gold" is now "Black Tide." One must wonder how people could come to misuse such a valuable asset. Great job! Joseph

Powerful words in those last two lines....and so frightenly true....the careless touch of man rides on the tides of our poor earth. Well done, Mitch....sadly said, but real and timely.

This is a calamity of profound proportions and it is the fault of greedily going forward before all precautions were in place. You say it well. Thank you foryour comments on my Parody. Love, Joyce
