Humanity Lost At Sea
Humanity lost at sea
They leave their homes
fleeing violence and animosity
Wanting a better life
anywhere they are welcome
as a family
They flee the violence and
stress in their homeland
looking for someone who cares
to lend a helping hand
Their lives have been turned
upside down
not knowing if today is the day
they will live or drown
Drown in their problems
or drown in the sea
dying for them is better
than living in calamity
So they spend their last dime
to get a seat on a leaky boat
to cross the sea to Europe
gazes fixed on their
horizon of hope
Men women and children
all thrown together
exposed to the elements
and stormy weather
Tossing and turning the sea
ever churning
waves overwhelm fragile ships
while humanity keeps learning
Waves crashing in on them
they hold on for dear life
They wonder to themselves
is this the day we all die?
This is their only hope
this is their only prayer
because if they live or die
who really cares?
If they are different
come from another country
we don't know or understand
does that mean they don't belong
to the race of humanity of Man?
Does their life not matter
because
they don't speak English well?
a thousand a week meet
their watery grave at sea
their story who will tell?
Men women and children
are dying in the open seas
crying for humanity to help them
someone help us please!!!
The stories continue to be told
once in a while pictures
of drowned babies on the news,
but I guess it's not as interesting
as funny cat videos with
10,000,000 views!
