How You Can Outrun the Past
How you can outrun the past
Sometimes the past chases you.
You hear its footsteps
in the alleys of your mind.
Listen even closer
and you'll hear
the heartbeat of One who loves you.
Instead of behind you,
He stands before you,
arms open, always saying,
"Come to Me.
I'm stronger than the past.
I'm even more real than those memories.
I AM
right here, right now,
and I will be your future too."
All that is behind you fades away and you are safe where you belong.
