How We Once Were:
Gray skies,
Distant blue eyes.
Heavy melancholy heart.
No energy left in me to re-start.
I loved you,
But you never knew.
I watched you smile,
I thought that maybe you'd notice after awhile...
You set beside me in class,
I wondered how long that would last.
You always made me laugh a lot,
And I never worried much about what you thought.
I see you consumed with her,
And wish we could be how we once were.
Secretly you held the cards to my soul,
You never knew... But you ripped out my heart whole.
I hate thinking of that painful part,
Because her ugliness pushed me and you so far apart...
