How Quickly They Grow
She always said,
"a ballerina I will be,
just watch me mom,
one day you will see."
"I will be so graceful,
as I leap so high,
and whirl, and twirl,
like a bird in flight."
"Maybe daddy,
will take the time,
to watch me dance,
wouldn't that be just divine."
I gave her a hug,
and told her that would be great,
then her daddy would see,
the beautiful girl, we had made.
Then off she went,
walking on her toes,
as I sat there thinking,
how quickly they grow.
