How Much Can the Heart Take

How much can one heart take, Being abandoned at birth, While the mother could care less, Her struggles in life, At hard knock times, She tried to make the best of it, As she could be, Questions she has, Answers she don't get, It eats inside her, But she still don't give up yet, Several years later, When she finds who her mom is, A reunion with her, Is just as is, She cries, Happy that her mom wants to see her, But on her drugs, And her boyfriend, Is whats always come first, No phone calls, No letters, Just disappointment, Things that still hurt, Life goes on, This once little girl, Now grown up, Sees the truth, Thats in everybodys eyes, She knows now, Even though truth always hurts, She will never end up, Like her real mother, She has a good life, Not from the likes of her, But her step mother, Her Father, It's their love, That taught her so...
