All across our little Island the kids are getting so excited That special day is drawing near …they will be delighted How many sleeps is it mum Their mother is counting the days Telling the children to go to sleep She puts her hands together and prays … Dear Lord PLEASE make it soon my head is aching …I can’t cope for too much longer The children are driving me crazy and their cries are growing stronger Next morning the kids bound out of bed, they are waiting for that day Promising their mum they will be good when they head out to play Is it Santa they are waiting for on a certain date….. They are going frantic … they can hardly wait Are they waiting for his sleigh with gifts piled high Tracking him on their computers seeing him flying across the sky Waiting to hear his YO HO HO. OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOO The reason why these children cannot wait …. Our McDonald's has been refurbished and they can get a big Mac on their plate 10~03~16 We have just one McDonald's on the Island and it is closed for a month whilst it is being refurbished!

Delightfully amusing poem, Jan. Thoroughly enjoyed the suspenseful build-up. Very satisfying ending, just like the last bite of a Big Mac. Love your writing flair on this one. Will read more of your work. Ty for reading my poem, "Cerulean Tears." Appreciate the love and support. Love and peace to you.

No wonder there are obesity problems with some kids - and being on computers etc doesn't help them to run off their energy:-( hugs jan xx

Thanks Ralph - what a sad state of affairs when they are counting down the days so they can have a McDonald's again - I probably only go there about once every 2 years lol:-) hugs jan xx
