How Can I Sleep
How can I sleep with lot of fears?
I close my eyes to drop the tears,
How can I sleep with hungry mind,
Why peace in world is hard to find?
Values lost, selfish are prayers.
Why a fake smile everyone wears?
Kindness forgotten, no one cares,
Humanity close to get blind.
How can I sleep?
Innocent die, fill earth’s layers,
Leaving behind their grieving dears,
When shall evil spirits unwind?
I hope we can still save mankind,
Events of day and darkness scares.
How can I sleep?
This poem has been published in 2019 in my poetry collection
‘Far In The Meadows and other poems’ – available on AMAZON. My book is a collection of selected ninety poems that revolve around three segments - Love, Life and Longing. These poems are an attempt to bring the trials and tribulations, nature and beauty, love and loss in one spectrum. Readers will experience a rollercoaster ride full of emotions and lessons from life. There are poems that bring hope and delight along with the poems that confront pain and endless longing. Different facets that life has to offer can be seen on a literary landscape and I am sure it would appeal to all the readers in general and poetry lovers in particular.
