Image result for pictures of out on the porch in the moonlight

I'll do some housekeeping today Take my broom and sweep the clouds away There won't be anytime for play But if you come and want to stay I'll share a sunset with you... We can dream of rose and violet-blue Take my rake I'll draw the night blind Fling the stars from the shovel to shine Pull the switch for the moon to light.... To glow on my place, this very night... As we share the stars and time, Out on the porch in our prime

Such an engaging poem that draws the reader in with such a sensuous invitation to "...share the stars and time." Now who could resist such a tempting offer? Be well. Brian

Quoth, Yes, some days there is a lot of work but I have reached the age that not so much work happens around here. Things just go undone. Your kind review of my work is encouraging. Sara

Annie, Thanks for dropping by and choosing one of my older works to read. Since learning more about poetry I think this one could be classified as couplets(maybe with some poetic license). Sara

Take my broom and sweep the clouds away is exactly the way. I feel when I'm in an angry or disappointed mood, there is nothing like housework to cast off the shadows. There won't be any time to play. Exactly! I have to FAV this one.

This is such a lovely write! Very whimsical, playful, romantic and refreshing! I think such magical things really are a part of housekeeping. Imaginative playfulness engages a household and creates a cozy, inspiring atmosphere... just like this poem.

Sara, I hope you shared this with hubby. I'll be looking to the stars tonight, thinking of you out there beneath the romantic moonshine and looking for a shovelful of stars. Love is wonderful. Smiles, Dane Ann
