House of Broken Dreams
A mountain side with a view
Four walls and a floor
Windows that never need cleaned
A roof overhead
Carpet or linoleum it doesn't matter
A tub and shower used daily
Food on the table to eat
Water to drink when I'm thirsty
A bed to rest in when the day is done
Blankets made of flannel or silk what do I care
Just something to keep me warm
Clothes on my back and shoes on my feet
Material possessions make up the world I live in
But they won't build a home for me
For I live in a house of broken dreams.
