Hopes Float

Like bubbles blown From the mouth of a child Our hopes float before us Dancing out of reach We follow them through the yard Feeling cool grass underfoot Eyes focused on catching Those illusive orbs Some fall to the ground and burst Some caught in strong winds pop in air Others continue to soar Up and out of sight Those are the hopes Our hearts want to follow Impossible, improbable, impractical Our hearts soar with them anyway
