Hopeless Spirits of Mine
You allowed me sink in anguish,
Dear child
I believed in you,
But you let me down
By making me live these lies
I’ve been denied way too many times
My spirits are hopeless
And below your feet
Repair our broken promises, God
I sought to relieve the gloom in your life
My past seems to repeat itself
Like a broken record,
However, I’m frightened of what I’ve become
My decrepit, hollow heart
Keeps pumping with evil blood cells
I’m infected by perilous hardships
I’m blemished with my own sins
Oh God,
You saved me from
Living in distress
