Hope To God
You'd think I'd know by now,
my words aren't worth my spit,
nothing that I write or say,
will change a world so full of it.
But I hope and I go on,
wasting this paper and this pen,
feeding on the little inspirations,
I find every now and then.
I get lost inside a song,
a part of me that doesn't age,
I find solace in poetic verse,
and live forever on a page.
I hide behind the happiness,
with nothing much to say,
I play dumb, keep myself numb,
until the sadness goes away.
So at the end of everything,
and all the pages that I've turned,
I hope there's so much more to know,
than the very little I have learned.
