Hope In Emptiness
He sits on the porch as the sun rises
Its warmth relaxing, beneath his many disguises
Which mask will he wear today
Which will keep anxiety at bay
One that feigns emptiness with laughter?
Something to shield the heart from disaster?
The birds begin their morning song
Thoughts on the aimless future come along
Will he meet the one who will make it all end
Someone that won't require him to pretend
His hand reaches stretching out twoards the sun
Hope drives his heart to find her, his loved one
