Hope In a Shell
An orb of light, dim but large, filling the vast twilight.
The silence screams the truth of all who have lied.
Meadow grass, black in the night, yet still soft as day,
surrounds my thought filled shell.
For I wonder, what is a body with no thoughts or emotion?
It is but a shell, empty and alone.
The cool breeze shifts the silence into an a ray of dancing leaves.
To show a shell it can be more than hollow.
It can be strong, it can be weak.
But a shell can be much more.
As the dim orb goes down and its sister starts to rise,
I fill my shell with what I had taken from that night..
