Hope

Hope poem Lionel Derbyshire A dim day Cloudy and grey. Murky and smog No sunlight Coming down Like a contract with doom. I could not soldier on In dire straights And this does not bloom On this hazy day. Feeling nasty filthy Abolished and adopted I dimly view My dinky ship to sink I limped to and fro But stumbled upon a Holy dictation A psalm of 23 .. Which gave me hope. Afterwards did not Give a damn about That awful devil Standing in my way. Those psalm words of hope Were discriptive The instructions clear Afterwards I did not fall In holes The awful devil dug On his parade today.
