Hope
Candlelight makes the room glow
Glowing embers of light,
That brightens the world
A million candles float above me in the air
Drifting as lilies,
On a beautiful, reticent pond
That holds secrets
We will never know
But secrets always have a dark twist,
And this beautiful magic is no different
In a blink of an eye
The lights go out
And I’m left wandering in a world of dark
I reach out to the walls,
And sharp thorns
Cut up my hands
Bind me to the wall
So I can’t breathe
But no matter where I look,
You’re nowhere to be found
The shadows laugh at my struggles,
The fear in my heart
And the pain
The blood that trickles down my body
But no matter how I struggle,
No matter how far I search for you
You never come
And I’m left without hope
