A beautiful language. Hard to imagine how wonderful it would be to grow up in such a paradise. Think of the wealth of Haiku one could write in such surroundings and with use of the language. No wonder you are so fresh and natural. Love, Dave

I didn't grow up here Daver. I grew up mostly in southern California. I came to live here after I met my husband in 1980. I agree with you about the beauty of the islands, they blend well with poetry. Thank you Daver. Love, Connie

We are often in the clouds as we live at 1200 feet above sea level. We most always have wind too which I love. Thanks so much.

this is a beautiful tribute not only to your home but to Hawaii also, Connie. sorry your childhood home was not that nice as you told me before. Mine was actually very filled with fighting. my mom and stepdad fought constantly. But we eight kids had such fun together, we were able to get past the bad relationship of my mom and stepdad.

How fortunate you are dear Connie, to live in such a magical place. But even more important, as you know, the fortune truly comes with the family love that is evident in your poem. I'm so happy for you to have it all. :) Lovely poem!

Well done, tradition mixed with tranquillity has been captured by your artistic pen and held motionless on the page. Reading this brought back my youth and the hot summers enjoyed by all. You have captured the essence of families and traditions, so that it can be enjoyed by young hearts and live on. Well written. Emile. #7

Thak you Nette...it is up now. Because Hawaii is 6 hours earlier than the east coast, it is somewhat of a disadvantage when posting my entries. By six am here it is already noon on the east coast. Hugs, Connie
