Home and Away a Collaboration With Ian Jones

Oh my darling, it's been three long years Since our finger tips slipped apart Oh my dearest i have all been in tears Wishing you were here, my heart is apart I remember our dream to be wed In the village church bedecked with flowers I wish with all our strengths we could have fled To a world and age of only love powers But my darling, the creeping green death Has taken my breath away like you did on that Summer's day. The Chlorine gas attacks destroyed the lungs of many soldiers in the trenches and it glowed luminous green and hugged the ground. Oh my dearest how i wish i was there to nurse You during the wounded cold days But over here am seeing my share of the curse The kids are dying of starvation and unknown diseases invade The surgeon's been, I don't have long, still I love you more than life deserves I miss you more than Heaven will Goodbye my darling, I'm so sorry I want to be with you but my heart will be still. One day we will meet again My days are few too One day we will dance in the rain There will be no songs to feel blue Farewell my love, for forever we will be without pain Consumption has taken me from you I'll meet you on the other side again
