I try to run from all I am afraid of
Not knowing I’m running from you
I thought I knew what was best
Giving in to sin, I try to impress the wrong person
Giving myself to men and not to my father
I wrote on my skin to tell the story of a broken girl
Wanting nothing to do with peace, the right life
Sometimes I yelled at you telling you that you’re nothing,
You are a liar, a person who loves to see people in pain
Not knowing I was talking to myself, I tried to hide from the
Light, the light I knew that was following me, I thought I could escape
I wanted nothing to do with what I thought I knew about you
I tried to make sense of this world, but I was stuck on earthly things
You made me stop and realize that I’m running from the person
That can save me from myself, from this world, from the enemy
I throw my hands up to the father, tears falling from my eyes
I don’t want to run any more I know where I stand
I run away towards the enemy and right into your arms
Father I am home, you’re the only thing I need, oh heavenly father I’m home
I’m home
