Hole In My Sky
There’s a hole in my sky where everything drains to,
And nothing ever comes back when I want it,
Except for the rain.
It’s just a hole no bigger than a beach ball,
The light of the moon is blocked when it passes behind it,
As too are clouds, birds, satellites and fireworks.
I’m not sure if it’s a solid or an opening of some sort;
An obstruction or a passage,
A locked door or a keyhole with a place of refuge.
There’s a whole of infinite sky beyond that opens to all,
And this is where I want to go.
And still there’s this empty blackness directly in front of me.
I wish I were an acrobatic circus performer,
I would light the void on fire and jump right through,
Fly away and never return.
