This is an Ode about Turkey. It sits in two continents- Europe and Asia (line 1). Julius Caesar proclaimed his celebrated words “Veni, vidi, vici (I came, I saw, I conquered) in Turkey, when he defeated Pontus, a formidable Kingdome in the black sea region of Turkey (line 2). The Hittites who sold Abraham the cave where he buried his wife sarah were from Turkey; St. Nicholar, also known as Santa Clau, was born in Patura on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast and the first church built by man is St. Peter’s church in Antioch (Antakya), turkey (line 3). Noah’s Ark landed on Mount Ararat in Eastern Turkey (line 6). Istanbul is the European capital of culture (lines 8 & 9). The capital of Turkey isn’t Istanbul as popularly believed, it is Ankara (line 10). Turkey has a strong manufacturing sector: Makes and exports cars, planes, electronics, clothing and textiles (line 14). Istanbul is the only city in the world built on two continents (line 15).

A stable plate on two different trays historically embracing the celebrated words of Caesar. Home to the Hittites of old, St. Nicholas and the Antioch’s monument, and a fine developing continuation of the ancient city of Troy. From being a port to the legendary Ark to introducing cherry and coffee to an entire continent. Its mega hub, now stands a cultural goal post to the entire pitch of its very affluent larger region. Yet, its focal point uncommonly stands at Ankara and the survival of Tin still stay true in Goltepe. In time’s rare, twas the battle ground for the Trojan wars, also the Museums of wonders of Halicarnasus and Ephesus, but now an active site of manufacturing and Industrial boom. While two land masses caress its identity, the surrounding waters play and dance to its productivity.

Oh, I really like this! Love your annotation, so thoughtful of including your reader. Have you looked at Turkey Medicine in Native American Medicine Cards? Turkey has the messianic, co-redeemer character and role. Giving life at very personal and intimate expense. Somehow I see Turkey Medicine between these lines, healing wounds of cultural history.
