High Esteem Was Held
High Esteem Was Held
With much high esteem he was held
But into crowd still did blend and meld
Was a mellow fellow liking to hum
And maker and beater of his own drum.
Individual sort not selling self short
Knew meaning of life and how to support
Ability to write poems and way he did
In comfortable fashion not flipping our lid.
To follow, he set standard for everyone
Each day wrote poems until they were done
Each night last time when he would look
They were stored in a composition book.
Each morning pulled out book and then
Would write more poems again and again
And of course you know needless to say
He finally had died and passed away.
Soon everyone heard all over town
Was poet of high status and world renown
But in heaven an issue still was pressing
God, be sure to give Poetry Soup Your blessing.
