Hiding In Plain View

I was just trying to catch the sun, Before it left me too, It's so hard to maintain my balance, Late in the afternoon, When I know the day is ending, And the is marching, To maintain a solemn vigil, Over my dead body, Hanging from the rafters, So I won't hit the ground, And break any bones on impact, That make the dreaded sound, Of the shattering of an insect, Underneath my shoe, That's dangling above the chair, Hiding in plain view.
