Hide-Out

I hear footsteps nearing me I can't help it but hide myself; My heart says darkness is closing in to pounce me And trouble is spreading her wings just beside me I can feel it and it is not far away. I hear footsteps nearing me I close my windows and shut the door Fear leaps in to warn me, I can't pull the curtains; I wait patiently breathing heavily in my closed shell. Confusion then forces me to rethink Is the hideout really a safe one? For I still hear footsteps nearing me, I can't help it and I know I have to hide myself. Darkness is taking its toll on me And when everything becomes numb I guess I had victory; I open the door but then it is just too late...
