Hidden Within the Rock
There's a rock that's higher than I
one that hides from my sin'e desire
there flowed all that was my cure
believe all this rejecting the liar
The law can never be obeyed
no amount of effort can it attain
there's no hope for such sinfulness
only Jesus can wipe my sinful stain
Come do I with nothing on
looking only to Calvary's hill
there the Christ died for me
with my sin He did eternally kill
Then it'll be at life's final breath
there after all my life death shall be
to an unknown sphere way out there
nothing more of this world will I see
At the judgement seat will I bow
please rock of ages hide me still
within your presence so fully safe
only there am I in your perfect will
(Thinking of the hymn 'Rock of ages', took my thoughts of it to pen this piece.)
