Hidden Key

Poets Dreamers We dream with eyes open Manipulators of time and space Masters of imaginary universes Warriors Lovers Healers Nothing is beyond our reach Pen in hand Heart allowed to flow free Words the oxygen we breath Dark Hopeful Philosophers of our day Pointing the way Wishing to be heard Will others see beyond the words To where the wisdom lay We all have our roles to play So yes we dream With our open eyes Hoping others realize We don't wish to disguise Yet sometimes hearts lie If you look underneath The metophor You will find a key to the hidden door In the end Thats all we are asking for

Great poem, and even greater wisdom dispensed from your masterful pen, Richard. Soul searching premium grade lines dispersed throughout ... words are the oxygen we breath ... if you look underneath the metaphor ... just a seamless stitched cloth of truth woven by you. Brilliant message poem. Love and peace always.

Thanks again. I have seen a change in my writing since joining the soup. I haven't had any writing training so this has been an education of sorts.

This a beautifully written piece. I particularly liked following line: Words the oxygen we breath

Yes those hidden things...I guess we'd just explode if we didn't write!

That would not be pretty, an epedemic of exploding poets.

Dreaming with eyes open... wow, I really liked that line! Those that don't write can look at poetry as just make belief, but I've heard someone say that the fictional movies often hold more truth than the daily news. We at times dress it up to make it interesting to read, but beyond the words there's so much more we are trying to say. Awesome work, especially the last stanza!
