Hidden flaws are often seen
through the lens of an aged eye.
When shadows collaborate to hide hate
and pretense helps bigotry go unseen,
just open your eyes; it's all there to see.
A collection of tall tales,
history's a flawed teacher.
Brutality, savagery, and fear
are tactics all potentates rely on,
bloodlust and genocide get rewarded.
War is a God-given right;
all pacifists are traitors!
As effective today as in the past,
lies are still the preferred motivator,
a proven way of controlling people.
Man touts His belief in God
if it suits His own purpose.
Democracy may be designed to fail,
for it seems it’s easily overthrown
by psychopaths with political might.
An ambition admired
by dictators; to this day.
