Hey Wait a Minute

Hey! Wait a minute, what's going on Is this how it's supposed to be All stooped over, walking with a cane Always needing to pee Told where to go and what to eat Try so hard not to drool Remembering days when I was the one In control, I was so cool Mom didn't tell me there'd be days like this Happy in her own little world She wanted to give me the inside scoop But her flag became unfurled All I can say is, I've enjoyed my trip If I bite the bullet tomorrow It's all been an absolute downright blast So don't go showing me sorrow! © Jack Ellison 2012

May you always be in good health and be blessed in every way ..Enjoyed reading our creative work this evening..We all who are growing older want to stay in the best health and not get down but we never know what the future holds..They say that exercise is the key to staying well though..Thanks for stopping by..I don't see how those young ladies wear those heels..I have not been able to wear a high heel since I was young like maybe in my late twenties..I have had spinal problems..Sara

I've been one of the lucky ones... seventy-seven and absolutely no health issues nor have I ever had any! So this poem certainly was not autobiographical! I also couldn't understand why women tortured themselves with those high heels! YIKES! I wish you good health health, dear Sara! Love and hugs, Jack

What is it with you more elderly gents, always talking about dropping off your perches. None of you want to go so don't dwell on it , it will shock you when it happens. Give us a lift Jack, not a funeral but we'll give you a blast when you do succumb somtime in the next 50 years or so xx
