Hero

This poem was written for a friend whose nephew served in Iraq and Afghanistan and now suffers with severe PTSD. Here's to this warrior. Cheers to this warrior hero. Here’s to this warrior. Cheers to this warrior - we know beneath eagles wings special forces soar below, dusty battle grounds dirty scenes of war. Honor forever engraved an inscription none can steal unbroken bond for life guarded, locked and sealed . Home between two pillars far from distant fields humbly submissive a thankful heart yet yields. Never to be forgotten wounded hearts and minds forever strong arm-in-arm the best of humankind. So, here is this warrior, cheers to this warrior - Hero.
